A suggestion I offered up on Twitter to the UI devs has almost nearly made it into the game. CCP Karkur and CCP Explorer took up the cause. I posted about it, here and on the E-O forums, where the support of the community furthered its progress.
Greenscreening is up on SiSi. Barring any major bugs, it should show up on Tranquility with the Late Summer update.
So a big thanks to CCP Explorer for passing the idea on to CCP Karkur and CCP T0rfifrans. CCP Karkur for putting together the code so quickly. And to CCP T0rfifrans for allowing it to enter the development pipe. Big thanks to everyone who responded positively on the E-O forums thread, without that sort of support it might have died.
Yeah, it's not internet spaceships, but it allows for further creativity from the community, especially those of us with only run-of-the-mill Photoshop abilities.
Even those of us with more than run-of-the-mill Photoshop abilities will appreciate this! Now we just need a way to do this with ships!!
